On the same day that Bailey McMonagle and her husband, Nolan, signed the lease to move into a rental house in Rochester, Minn., Oct. 22, a transplant heart arrived for her at the Mayo Clinic. Bailey underwent an eight-hour operation to implant the new heart. She spent seven days in the intensive care unit and another four in the Step-Down Unit. She arrived home at the rental Nov. 2. Her recovery is proceeding well. She and Nolan will remain in Rochester for at least 90 days for the required regular checkups. They plan to return to Washington state to visit friends and family after their time in Rochester is complete.
Saturday, friends of Bailey and her family are planning Bailey’s Benefit Bash. It will be held at Farmer’s Community Hall. Jumpers Flats, a local country band, will be providing the entertainment. Admission is free, but any donations to help the McMonagle family with medical expenses will be accepted and appreciated. The annual Farmer’s Market will be held at the same location earlier in the day.
