1A state football: Cashmere beats Okanogan, advances to semifinal

WENATCHEE — Mason Elliott has had a very good season for the Cashmere football team on both sides of the ball, but it hasn’t been hard to see in recent weeks that the Bulldogs have been relying on the junior slotback/defensive back more and more. The vast majority of the time, Elliott has come through and delivered big plays for his team on both sides of the ball.

That pattern continued Saturday in Cashmere’s 1A state quarterfinal contest against Caribou Trail League rival Okanogan at Lee Bofto Field at the Apple Bowl. The Bulldogs put the ball in Elliott’s hands repeatedly, and not only did he deliver more big plays, he delivered points — lots of them.
