NCW — People throughout North Central Washington are checking their options for new health insurance through the Washington Health Plan Finder. In October, almost 200 people in Chelan, Douglas, Grant and Okanogan counties enrolled in an insurance plan with subsidies, over 50 enrolled without subsidies, and more than 2,100 people qualified for Medicaid.
To sign up, some people are going to insurance brokers. Some are trying it on their own at home. And some are using in-person assisters located at several clinics and hospitals. What they’re experiencing ranges from frustration to elation.
