Frances E. (Fran) Bersing

February 29, 1940 ~ November 19, 2013

Frances E. (Fran) Bersing, born on February 29, 1940, went to her heavenly home on November 19, 2013. She was born to Charles J. and Martha E. (Walden) Depew in Habersham, TN. Frances moved with her family to Leavenworth, WA with her parents, brother, William (Bill) and four sisters, Clara, Minnie, Betty, and Jewel on April 7, 1942. She attended school in Leavenworth. She met and married Donald Bersing on February 9, 1963. They made their home in Peshastin, WA for several years. Don adopted Frances’ daughter, Brenda, in 1965. On May 20, 1966 their son, Donald B. Bersing was born.

Don and Fran ran the Nifty Nook Cafe in Peshastin until they moved to Seattle, in May of 1967. Don passed away in October, 1974 and Fran and the children moved to Cashmere, in 1975. She met Mr. Tereso Curiel in the fall of 1975. Their son, Shane, was born in May, 1976 and their daughter, Latisha, was born in March, 1978. Frances loved to crochet and made many Afghans and wash cloth quilts for her children. She worked at the Leavenworth Hospital in the kitchen and was head cook for several years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Bersing; and her partner, Tereso Curiel; her mother and father; brothers, Herman, Mack, Kelly and William and her sisters, Clara, Minnie, Betty, and Jewel.

Fran’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Confluence Health at Central Washington Hospital, Central Washington Hospital Hospice, Cashmere Convalescent Center and Chaplain Scott Langager and a very special thanks to Aunt Martha, for all her love and support.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cashmere City Cemetery with concluding services at Ward’s Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth, following at 12:00 noon. Memorials may be made in Fran’s name to the charity of ones choice.

Ward’s Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth is in charge of the arrangements.
