An amazing thing happened Thursday. Nearly 1,000 people showed up at Rotary Park to spend their Thanksgiving Day running through the cold, and by the looks of things enjoyed it immensely.
We have a wonderful and wholesome tradition developing before our very eyes. Turkey on the Run, as the race is called, was considered a smashing success a year ago when 680 runners and walkers turned out. This year, there were 931, according to organizer RunWenatchee. Many families came to run together. Many of those came in costume. Most brought contributions of food for local food banks. The event is a fundraiser for the Women’s Resource Center, and no doubt proved fruitful.
