The Wenatchee Valley Chamber of Commerce and its partners are busy assessing their first united tourism promotional campaign. We do not know how the returns will come in, but expect them to measure a positive impact. The “Wenatchee — What Will You Pick Today” slogan was memorable, but the campaign was best for uniting the communities with a sense of purpose. The stronger effort has already had an impact.

The campaign was the first since the chamber merged with the Wenatchee Valley Visitors and Convention Bureau. Efforts of the past did the best with the resources available, but were fragmented. This campaign united the chamber, the Wenatchee Valley Sports Council, the Tourism Promotion Alliance and the cities of Wenatchee and East Wenatchee as funding sources. “Bringing all these groups together to focus on the same ideas and goals is a paradigm shift,” the chamber’s Executive Director Shiloh Schauer told The World’s Mike Irwin. Collaboration multiplies the campaign’s power.
