WENATCHEE — Chelan County commissioners will host a public hearing Oct. 29 to gather comments on a six-month moratorium they approved last month on businesses that would grow or sell marijuana under the state’s new law.
The moratorium gives county officials a chance to develop guidelines about where the businesses could be located and how they could operate.
The state is expected to release its own regulations for the new law by mid November.
Commissioner Keith Goehner said the board will reconsider its decision to impose the moratorium after gathering comments at the hearing.
The hearing will take place at 1:30 p.m. in the commission boardroom at 400 Douglas St., Suite 201.
