WENATCHEE — Old habits die hard — that’s what motorists have been discovering for the last several weeks when they make that familiar right turn onto Mission Street off the Sen. George Sellar Bridge and get caught behind someone who is still trying to turn left at Ferry Street.
That familiar left turn was eliminated several weeks ago when the bridge’s new Crescent Street offramp opened.
The intersection at Mission and Ferry now includes an unmistakable “no left turn” sign hanging high, right next to the intersection’s traffic light.
The correct way to cross the bridge and head west on Ferry is to take Wenatchee Avenue or new Crescent Street offramps and then turn left onto Ferry and head west, across Mission and onto your destination.
The traffic change is part of a complex series of improvements underway to speed traffic flow around and across the bridge. Work should be finished later this year.
