Georgia Montana “Monty” Wickenhagen

Georgia Montana “Monty” Wickenhagen, 74, a 33-year Wenatchee Valley resident, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Confluence Health at Central Washington Hospital, following a brief illness. She was born on May 5, 1939 at Sheridan, MT to the late Melvin and Myrtle Montana (Coad) Gainan. She was raised and attended schools in Ronan, MT. She graduated from the Ronan High School and continued her education at Kinman Business College in Spokane, WA. She later moved to Albany, OR and while there, she met Donald G. “Don” Wickenhagen. They were married on April 5, 1972 at Sparks, NV. They continued to make their home together in OR, until moving to Wenatchee in 1980. They made their home in East Wenatchee in 1987. She worked in the fruit industry prior to working in retail. She had worked at BiMart, ShopKo and lastly, Ross. She had been employed at Ross from the opening of the store in East Wenatchee and liked her job. She loved gardening and being in the yard and drinking coffee on her front porch.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald “Don” Wickenhagen on January 8, 2010; her parents; brothers, Louis Gainan, Wayne Gainan and Woody Gainan. She leaves behind children, Rusty (Koreen) Wickenhagen of North Bend, WA; Victor Wickenhagen of Herlong, CA; Perry (Barbara) Wickenhagen of Mallot, WA; Mark (Lena) Wickenhagen of Spokane, WA; James (Stephanie) Wickenhagen of East Wenatchee, WA; two sisters, Wilma (Herb) Bicks of Ronan, MT; Virginia (Tom) Williams of Butte, MT; two brothers, Walt Gainan of Ronan, MT; Joe (Jan) Gainan, of Charlo, MT; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A Remembrance Gathering will be held at a later date.
