Fish tests at Wanapum and Priest Rapids dams mean danger for boaters

EPHRATA — Mandatory fish-related testing and surveys will result in rapidly fluctuating Columbia River water levels today through Monday, above and below Wanapum and Priest Rapids dams.

River levels could vary by as much as six feet, presenting potentially volatile water conditions or stranding boats, Grant County PUD officials said in a news release.

Changing water levels could also expose hazards and render some boat ramps unusable.
