‘When I Ride the Bus’
What: A promotional video for Link Transit
Who (part one): North 40 Productions of Wenatchee made the video in a five-week process from writing the song to editing the footage. It stars Nathan Getzin, a North 40 designer and editor, in his debut performance, along with a host of local folks. The catchy lyrics and melody of the “When I Ride the Bus” song were penned by Jeff Ostenson, Chaz Yenney, Getzin and the video’s producer Charles Atkinson.
Who (part 2): The video is aimed at a broad audience of loyal and potential bus riders. But Link marketing coordinator Eric West admitted the viewing demographics could “trend young” because of the popularity of social media among the under-30 age group. A multi-age, multi-cultural group was used to reflect the diversity of Chelan and Douglas counties.
Why: A musical production is “an excellent way to connect with an audience,” said producer Atkinson. “It’s easy to digest. You don’t force-feed a brand or product. And it’s really a lot of fun.”
