Rose Gronlund

April 5, 1952 ~ October 10, 2013

Rose Gronlund, born April 5, 1952 in Newport, WA passed away on October 10, 2013 with her family by her side. Rose lived in Rock Island, WA for the past 35 years. Rose was a homemaker, she was known for being a great cook. She was also well known for being a great mother, not only to her son, “JB” but everyone that knew her. She was often called mom by others, young and old. Rose loved horses, she learned to roller skate while she was just three-years old, she loved to go four wheeling and she really loved her big Dodge truck, Gurtrude. She loved to plant flowers and take care of her animals. Rose was a blue jean, white t-shirt and skechers kind of a lady! Rose enjoyed going to town with her partner in crime, her mamma, Rita Vandoren, they loved to shop and spend time together on a regular basis. Rose loved her husband, Steve, very much and they were a good example of true soul mates. When it came to her son, JB, she just adored him. He was the joy of her life.

Rose leaves behind her loving husband, Steve Gronlund; mother, Rita VanDoren; and “Pops”; her son, Jeremy Best and

daughter-in-law, Carrie Best; along with three grandchildren; and her niece, Starla Arthur of Rock Island; her stepson, Jeremy Gronlund; stepdaughter, Ann and two grandchildren of Cashmere, WA; her brother, Chuck Loper; nephew, JJ Loper and his wife, Melissa Loper all of Spokane; and niece Kelsey Loper of Yakima, WA. Rose also leaves behind many other family members, friends and her pets: Rocky, Bubba and Jonie that loved her dearly.

Our family would like to thank Home Hospice Care of Central Washington Hospital for Rose’s care. There will be a Reception to Honor Rose’s Life on Saturday October 19, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at The VFW post 3617 (211 11th NE E. Wenatchee). There will be a potluck to follow. If you had the honor of being a part of Rose’s life, please come and join us in remembering her.
