MOSES LAKE — A 34-year-old Quincy man died Tuesday night when he was run over by a farm tractor near Moses Lake.

Steve Weil, an employee of Simplot Soilbuilders, was helping Friehe Farms prepare soil about 7:30 p.m., according to a press release from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office. He walked into the field and, for reasons unknown to investigators, tried to climb aboard a moving tractor driven by Dusty Fondren, 26, of Moses Lake. Weil fell, was run over by the tractor’s left rear tire and died at the scene.
