The Wenatchee High School Golden Apple Marching Band competed again this past weekend as they performed at the Tumwater Marching Band Festival in Tumwater. Jim Kovach directs the band with assistant director Tim Zanol.
The WHS GA Band was determined to build on the great foundation it has and show improvement for the second competition of the year. Band members’ hard work at practices was reflected in bringing home awards for Best Marching and Best Percussion. The band put on a terrific show and placed third in the AAA/Open division. The top three bands gave each other stiff competition and were within tenths of a point in their scores.
This weekend, the GA Marching Band will represent the Wenatchee Valley at the Harvest Festival of Bands in Yakima.
To show its appreciation for the community’s continued support, the band invites you to come see and hear what others are talking about. Please stop by for any Monday or Thursday evening practice between 6 and 9. We hope to see you at the WHS track off Red Apple Road as Wenatchee’s own award-winning band performs for you.
To follow the band and see photos and videos, please check out “Wenatchee GA Band” on Facebook and YouTube.
The GA Band would also like to thank Minnie Obregon for her delicious meals, all band booster members, chaperones, families, and fans for volunteering countless hours to help make this incredible program what it is.
Thank you, Wenatchee, for your continued support!
Anne-Marie Windsor is president of the Wenatchee High School Golden Apple Band booster group.
