Mabel Claire Story was born to John Hardman and Emma (Sweeney) Hardman in Leavenworth, WA on June 16, 1921. She passed away October 17, 2013. Mabel grew up in Wenatchee and graduated from Wenatchee High School, class of 1939. On January 29, 1947, she married Ernest W. Story in Wenatchee and spent their entire married life of 64 years in East Wenatchee. She was a homemaker, loved taking trips to Reno, NV with husband Ernest, and later enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest; her seven brothers and sisters; and her daughter, Cheryl Ann Story. She is survived by four children, Kathy (Tom) of Lake Forest Park, WA; Mary Harmon of Wenatchee, WA; Ernest “Rusty” (Carla) Story of Everett, WA; Kevin (Josie) of East Wenatchee, WA; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation, gratitude and thanks to Hospice and River West Assisted Living for the exceptional care and kindness they’ve given to Mabel.
