Daniel Lee Kreun

May 17, 1970 ~ October 16, 2013

Daniel Lee Kreun was born May 17, 1970, in Anchorage, AK. His father was Glenn Dean Kreun, born in Minnesota. His mother was Bernice Pauline Moonin born in Alaska. In 1976, he moved with his father and two other siblings to Washington, where he would spend his childhood on a small acreage of orchard and farm. It was here he learned horticulture and farming skills taught by his father. While in school, he tested his knowledge and realized he enjoyed fixing small engines and repairing anything electronic, most of which was self taught. After graduating from Eastmont High School in 1988, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and was an aircraft mechanic. After serving his country for four years, he returned to Washington. He then moved to Missouri in 1994, where he would enjoy fishing, camping, reading, cooking and enjoying life the way he knew how. He loved his friends and family. As those who knew him well will remember his out-of-the-blue early morning or late night phone calls…most filled with story telling and his unforgettable laugh. Although his health became an issue later in his life, he held his head high and was an optimistic man. Always seeing the good in others and laughing along the way. He embraced life and lived it to the fullest. Memory Eternal.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Pauline Moonin; his father, Glenn Dean Kreun; his maternal grandparents, Demetrie and Barbara Moonin; his paternal grandparents, Wilmar and Sophia “Sue” Kreun; maternal uncles, Elmer, Dick and Martin Moonin, Ed Sliney and William Betts: paternal uncles, Russell Kreun, Ron Berghorst and Jeff Hunter; paternal aunt, Barbara Kreun; and cousin, Ethan Berghorst. He is survived by his maternal uncle, Isaac Moonin; paternal aunts, Jessie Sliney, Jean and Judy Moonin; paternal uncles, Roger and Warren Kreun, Dale Ackerman, Chuck Wulf, Dave Meiners, Bob Bolkema and Curt Bangasser; paternal aunts, Alberta Kreun, Jean Ackerman, Wanda Wulf, Becky Meiners, Vonnie Bolkema, Cathy Kreun and Charla Bangasser; his siblings, Alice Moonin, Daryl Kreun and Shelia Ivarsen; nephews, Joel Moonin, Darren Moonin, Justin Byers and Parker Ivarsen; nieces, Janelle Byers and Payton Ivarsen; great-niece, Lillian Moonin; daughters, Jasmine Tanape, Miranda Welch-Kreun and Zarah Welch-Kreun; two grandsons, Antwan Nierstheimer and Cayden Nierstheimer; as well as numerous extended family.

Private Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
