WENATCHEE — A wind advisory will remain in effect through late this afternoon for a storm that already rocked the area with nearly 50 mph wind gusts through the night.
Pangborn Memorial Airport clocked a 47 mph gust at 10:55 p.m. Sunday and a 46 mph gust just before 7 a.m. today. Some gusts greater than 50 mph were recorded farther to the east.
The winds could cause wind chills in the teens and low 20s in some areas.
The National Weather Service has issued wind advisories through 5 p.m. today for much of the southeastern quarter of the state — including much of Douglas and Grant counties. The advisory calls for gusts as high as 55 mph.
The winds are following a storm system that blew across the region Sunday.
