Seattle homeless camp dismantled
More than 100 residents of a Seattle homeless camp have been forced to move.
The camp, known as Nickelsville, was taken apart Sunday following an earlier City Council vote. A majority of council members said homeless camps are not an acceptable solution to the homeless problem in the city. The council has approved spending $500,000 to relocate the campers.
The residents will now split into three neighborhoods — Jackson Street in the Central District, the 1400 block of 22nd Avenue and along Martin Luther King Way in Skyway.
