With fall finally here, we are looking at some interesting economic news locally, with a big apartment complex stirring up the dirt near our waterfront.
Housing is slowly picking up all over, with
this project a star. And up in Okanogan County the tribes have reopened their lumber mill and have a big rebuilding project at Nespelem to replace their headquarters.
Here in Chelan County the Winton project is another welcome addition, making (of all things) oil industry products up there on the Stevens Pass highway.
There are others.
The ports are starting to acquire the property needed for expanding Pangborn Memorial Airport runway 700 feet.
And fall fruit harvest brings the need for pickers to the region, a busy time for all.
