Gary Cassell, D.V.M. of Countryside Veterinary Clinic recently attended a continuing education meeting of the Montana Veterinary Medical Association in Kalispell. Topics included small animal oncology, techniques in repairing common ligament injuries and the use of the cold laser in the therapeutic treatment of a variety of painful conditions.
Michael Vannier presented Kathleen E. Schmidt with the Ken Weber Attorney of the Year award at the 2013 Washington State Bar Association Family Law Section annual mid-year meeting. Schmidt was recognized for her service on the Family Law Executive Committee (FLEC), which included elected terms for 1997-2002 and 2003-2009. She served as Newsletter Editor on two separate and was the Chair of the Executive Committee in 2008-2009 and continued her active service oin the committee until late 2012.
Erika Schnell was certified as an OASIS (Outcome and Assessment and Information Set) Specialist during a recent clinic. The OASIS exam is the only nationally standardized, psychometrically validated test that strictly evaluates a clinician’s knowledge of CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) OASIS guidelines. Schnell is employed at Colonial Vista Care Center in Wenatchee.
Beth Hayes has successfully completed a Health Coach Certificaion Exam, in partnership with Villanova University College of Nursing and the MacDonald Center for Obesity Prevention and Education. Hayes coaches clients using a comprehensive approach to a healthy weight and optimal health.

Sarah Bluher, PTA, ATRIC, physical therapy assistant at Cascade Medical Center in Leavenworth, recently received extensive education and training in aquatic therapy, and earned a certificate of proficiency, from the Aquatic Therapy and Rehab Institute.
John Hennessy recently joined Cascade Medical Center in Leavenworth as its chief financial officer (CFO). He previously was CFO at Dayton General Hospital in Dayton. He replaces Diane Blake, who was named chief executive officer of Cascade Medical Center earlier this year.
Licensed Massage Therapist, Ryan Edwards, recently joined DeCamp Toftness Chiropractic Clinic in Wenatchee. Edwards has been in practice for over nine years and specializes in many techniques, including: clinical/recovery massage, Ashiatsu Massage, TMJ/jaw treatment and structural relief therapy.
Clarissa Whitehall has joined DeCamp Toftness Chiropractic Clinic as a massage therapist. She is trained in Swedish relaxation, therapeutic, deep tissue, sports massage, hot stone, pregnancy massage and reflexology. She graduated from WVC with an AAS degree in 2009 and completed a 700-hour course at Columbia River Institute of Massage Therapy in 2012.
