For love of country
Friends keep telling me I should stop fighting a battle I cannot win — but when it comes to my beloved country, I won’t stop, even though my country is home to more shallow thinkers than the rest of the world combined. Though I love life, and wish to live many more years, I’m glad I’m 84 and won’t be around as my precious country continues to slide backwards.
Another topic that truly angers me is the fact the most evil thing in our world, and especially the United States, is money, or if you prefer, the love of money. In my opinion, there would be no such thing as a billionaire. No one needs, or deserves, that kind of money. Wonder how many of our D.C. politicians are owned by the wealthy?
One final thought, and it might sound silly, but try it: Stand before a mirror and ask yourself, “How much does my country mean to me?”
