WENATCHEE — Work is set to begin Monday to repave the final, 4.5-mile stretch of Stemilt Loop Road, south of Wenatchee. It will continue through Oct. 10.
Granite Construction of East Wenatchee will rebuild the road between mileposts 4 and 7, and apply a new layer of asphalt between mileposts 7 and 9.
The project — which came in just under $388,900 — also includes some guardrail and drainage improvements.
This is the third and final phase of an effort to repave the entire length of Stemilt Loop Road. Earlier phases were in 2009 and 2011.
