BRIDGEPORT — A Bridgeport man running for city council will host a meeting to present his findings on the Bridgeport Fire Department.
The meeting is at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at the Bridgeport Elementary School cafeteria.
Michael Knox, who is running for Pos. 1 on the Bridgeport City Council, said he made a series of public information requests to the city, and after receiving answers he worries that the firefighters are not safe and that the city’s fire rating that affects insurance rates may drop.
Bridgeport Mayor Marilynn Lynn said she has seen Knox’s report, which was then reviewed by the council’s fire and ambulance committee, the city’s attorney and insurance company, and the state fire marshall and no one expressed concerns about the findings.
