Dear Mr. President
Here is a letter I’m sending to President Obama. I urge you to exercise your rights as a citizen to send him your own views:
“Please, please, Mr. President DO NOT take military action against Syria! I believe that Assad is taunting you, daring you to mount a military strike. That is why he flaunted your warnings and used chemical weapons against innocent people. Yes, it is unthinkable. Yes, we cannot allow this to happen in our sphere if we can do anything to stop it. Yes, innocent civilians and children were slaughtered. But think about the THOUSANDS or hundreds of thousands who will be slaughtered if we initiate ANY kind of military action.
“Mr. President, I beg you, call in all of the advisers you can think of from all sides. There has got to be something different we can do in this crisis other than launch missiles and bombs. Please have the courage to find something “outside the box.” What happened to the Barack Obama we all voted for in 2008 because you voted against the Iraq War?
“There has got to be something, and you and your advisers, many of whom I would trust, will come up with the proper action to take at this time other than another war! I have not heard a single commentator who is supporting your action now.
“We are all praying fervently for you. Check out all of the statements being made by the major church denominations in our country.
“God Bless you , Mr. President and God bless the United States of America!”
