MANSON — It was a day of firsts at Saturday’s rainy Lake Chelan Shore to Shore Marathon, Half-Marathon and 10K, with a new record set in the men’s marathon and a new turnout mark established for the event.

Depending on which runner you spoke to afterwards, the wet weather — steady rain fell for virtually the entire morning — either was a help or a hindrance to fast times. The wet weather also was a first — never had it rained so much and so long in the event’s 12-year history.
