TONASKET — A Spanish language class on organic farming will be held next Tuesday through Thursday at the Tonasket Community Center.
The class offers an introduction to organic farming methods and information on how make the transition from conventional farming methods. The free 20-hour class is offered by The Center for Latino Farmers, a division of the USDA Rural Community Development Resources. The Center for Latino Farmers works primarily with farmworkers with limited English speaking skills. Lessons will be conducted only in Spanish.
Classes will be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. each evening at the community center, 411 Western Ave. Space is limited, call to register (509) 453-3157.
