Robert Clapp left this morning for Lake Chelan where he will spend the week fishing.
A group of young people left this morning for Saddle Rock where they spent the day picnicking. Those on the trip included Dorothy Andrus, Fanny Napier, Marion Tibbets, Fern Prowell, Ilene Brown, Emily Carlberg and Mont Morrison.
A bridal shower was held Friday afternoon in honor of Jennie Gormley. Those attending were Mrs. T.J. Black, Ms. C.J. Black, Mrs. I.L. Bailey, Mrs. F.W. Parsons, Mrs. J.W. Wagner, Mrs. Marion Neal, Mrs. C. Gormley, Hazel Black, Reba Clossen, Hazel Clossen, Ida Parsons and Verna Gormley.

Fifteen lettermen were counted among the 99 eager young athletes who reported to coach Tom Byrne for the opening of Wenatchee High School football drills Monday. They included Carl O’Donnell, Bob Hively, Elven Worley, Jim Novak, Jim Radloff, Paul Volkmann, Jeff Lucas, Don Hudson, Tom Holliday, Steve Roehl, Ed Cadman, Bill Carter, John Jorgensen, Rich Snodgrass and Bob Henkel.
Eastmont High School football coach Lou Boni will rebuild his Wildcats from a nucleus of 15 returning lettermen as they gathered for opening drills this week. They are Jim Reid, Kenneth (Junior) Robins, Dave Shiftlett, Lester Soule, Jerry Tucker, Jim Mattern, John Wright, Bob Baldridge, Mike Horner, Paul Bauer, Jim Hastings, Vic Horner, Al Messersmith, Merlin Perkins and David Beck.
