KENNEWICK — The Wenatchee Racquet and Athletic Club was well represented at the United States Tennis Association Central Washington/North Central Oregon region tournament, held Sept. 14 and 15.
WRAC sent four teams to compete, with one men’s team and one women’s team advancing to the regional competition in Sun River, Ore., set for June.
The Women’s 7.0 team, which is moving on, is co-captained by Mary Houghland and Nora Cross. Team members include Kellie Goetsch, Barbara Sandum, Joanne Houseman, Gina Talbot, Debi DiTomasso, Carol May and Shari Tastad. The team won all five of its matches, sweeping its division.
The Men’s 7.0 team moving on is captained by Jim Kellogg. Members included Larry Woodward, John Raymond, Brian Wengreen, Dave Jaquish, Steve Ovenell, Rick Roedel, Lance Lorrain and Dick Lester. The men played four matches, winning three, to win their division.
Wenatchee golfer wins seniors tournament
Pat Terry of Wenatchee Golf & Country Club won the Washington State Women’s Golf Association Senior Championship, held Sept. 9 and 10 at Broadmoore Golf and Country Club in Seattle.
Terry shot a 78 on the first day and recorded an 81 on the second day, winning the tournament for a third consecutive time.
