WENATCHEE — What are your ideas for a new waterfront park?
The city of Wenatchee is holding a workshop Tuesday to gather ideas on how a nearly 5-acre site that was donated to the city should be developed.
The meeting is set for 5 p.m. at Wenatchee City Hall, 129 S. Chelan Ave.
The land is located just south of the Pipeline Bridge at the end of Worthen Street. It was donated by Hale Family Properties LLC. Jack Hale operated Hale & Long General Contractors for about 30 years in Wenatchee before selling it in 2000 and later moving to Wyoming.
He bought the waterfront property in several chunks as a place to store excess dirt used in construction. He donated the property to the city earlier this year with the caveat that it become a public park.
The city has agreed to name the park after the family.
