SNOQUALMIE PASS — Interstate 90 over Snoqualmie Pass will be closed at least an hour for blasting every evening this week except Friday, the state Department of Transportation has said.
Closures begin at 6 p.m. and last from one to two hours or more.
The closures tonight, Tuesday and Thursday are expected to be an hour or more. The closure Wednesday will be two hours or more.
During blasting, I-90 will close eastbound at Gold Creek (milepost 56) and westbound at Price Creek (milepost 61).
The blasting is necessary to make room for an extra traffic lane in either direction.
Even when the route is open, traffic may be reduced to one lane through construction areas, causing long back ups. Plan for delays, DOT officials say.
