Ten old grand pianos out in Howard Johnson’s field outside of Twisp make another special place in the Methow Valley for art.
Johnson, an electrical engineer, has a taste for hearing music as well as seeing pianos.
He converted his barn into a concert venue, according to the lead story in the Methow Valley News this week.
He got the ten old grands from Seattle’s Prosser Piano firm when they closed their warehouse. The News also reports a big construction job on the Chewuck Canal project to start when irrigation season stops.
Selland Construction got the $l.5 million job, part of the reduction of water diversion from the river.
