Joyce Annette McAlpine

September 11, 1936 ~ September 24, 2013

Joyce Annette McAlpine, 77, of Ephrata, WA, entered into heaven September 24, 2013, after her battle with cancer. She was born into this world on September 11, 1936 in Grand Coulee, WA as Joyce Annette Sutton, the daughter of Fred and Ruby Sutton. She grew up in Wenatchee, with her sisters, Louise and Betty and brother Fred. She enjoyed her time there, living amongst the apple orchards and was the Valedictorian of her high school class. She met and married Kent Stanley, who was in the Air Force stationed at Moses Lake and they moved around the U.S. and Morocco. During this time, they raised four boys: Ralph, Knight, Scott and Kriss. They all moved back to the family home in Mesa, AZ in the early 1970’s. In 1986, Joyce returned to Wenatchee, where she met George McAlpine and they were married in 1994. Joyce and George lived in Ephrata, WA for the remainder of their days, where George preceded her in death. Joyce and George had a love for the outdoors, gardening and guns. Joyce was an active member of her church and the Young Ladies Institute, active in her community, an avid Trap and Skeet shooter in the Almira Gun Club, taught Hunter Education and was an active member of the “Dancing Grannies”. She will always be remembered and loved by all who met her.

Joyce is survived by her brother; two sisters; four sons; eleven grandchildren; six

great-grandchildren and six step-children.
