WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee Valley College baseball team won the first game of its Saturday doubleheader against Treasure Valley at Paul Thomas Sr. Baseball Stadium and sent one of its best pitchers to the mound in the nightcap. The Knights had every reason to feel good about their chances of picking up a much-needed sweep.

Their pitcher, Lars Rider, did indeed pitch well in the nightcap. However, he couldn’t match the effort of Chukars starter Tanner Lupton, whose dominating performance will probably go down as one of the best pitching outings of the season in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges East Region.
