Two fine historians have given us the story of agriculture history of the Pacific Northwest and the changes that have made today’s crops so important.
The book, “Harvest Heritage,” was written by Richard Scheuerman and Alex McGregor.
Scheuerman teaches history at Seattle Pacific, and McGregor heads an eastern Washington farm supply company.
The changes in grain production through hybridization gives this book its unique character, as the description of “heirloom crops” tells the story of early agriculture.
