WATERVILLE — Methamphetamine played a part in the 2013 death of a Waterville man who struggled with a Douglas County sheriff’s deputy during an arrest, according to recently released public records.

Excited delirium associated with methamphetamine intoxication was the cause of death of Waterville resident Jason Nalls on July 23, 2013. Hypertensive heart disease was a contributing factor, according to the records released to The Wenatchee World Monday in response to a public records request. The determinations were made Sept. 23, 2013, by Dr. Gina Fino, a forensic pathologist on contract with Douglas County.
