SNOQUALMIE PASS — Drivers across one of the region’s major mountain passes can expect delays this week due to construction , the state Department of Transportation announced today.

Travelers across Snoqualmie Pass on Interstate 90 will experience lane modifications as follows:

• At three miles east of the summit, construction crews will open two lanes westbound and one lane eastbound until 9 p.m. Sunday.

• After 9 p.m. Sunday, traffic will be reduced to a single lane in both directions 24 hours a day until Friday (April 25).

Early-morning avalanche work today on Stevens Pass along Highway 2 was completed by 4:30 this morning (Sunday), the most recent DOT press release said. The highway is open in both directions.
