Diane Wilson Schroeder

January 12, 1929 ~ April 17, 2014

Diane Wilson Schroeder was promoted to glory April 17, 2014, in Wenatchee, WA. She met the challenge of cancer with faith and determination. Born Patricia Diane Gose on January 12, 1929, in Mount Vernon, WA, she was the only daughter of Earle and Dorothy Gose. She lived in various towns in Northwestern Washington and graduated from Burlington-Edison High School in 1947.

She worked as a dental assistant and office receptionist in Burlington, WA, where she met her husband. She married Walter Abbott Schroeder on January 16, 1949, at the Schroeder family home in Mount Vernon. She worked with her husband in the household goods moving business they co-founded and helped him with their missionary shipping ministry. For over 40 years, she regularly corresponded with numerous missionaries. She attended Wenatchee First Assembly of God church since 1997. Diane was a friendly, caring, sharing person who enjoyed people. She loved the Lord, and her children and grandchildren, who were her delight. Two of her favorite pastimes were working with flowers and keeping up with local, regional and national sports.

She is survived by four children and their spouses: Rev’s Sallee and Jim Conn of Edmonds, WA; John and Bette Jo Schroeder of Mesa, AZ; David and Holly Schroeder of Bethpage, TN; and Stephen and Melody Schroeder of Royersford, PA.

She has 12 grandchildren: Ryan and Shilo Conn of Edmonds, WA; Jeffrey and Carleta Schroeder of Eagle River, AK; Kelli and Bryan Mattox of Mesa, AZ; April and Jason Henderson of Arlington, TN; Tiffany Schroeder and Vanessa Enriquez-Rios of Memphis, TN; Rachel Schroeder of Hendersonville, TN; Jeremy and Pam Stanley of Memphis, TN; Rhonda and Ryan Fuller of Whitehouse, TN; Andy Stanley of Bethpage, TN; Jacob Schroeder of Ellensburg, WA; Stephanee and Corey Newman of Spokane, WA; and Paul Schroeder of Spokane, WA.

She has 18 great-grandchildren: Hailey and Ethan Conn; Spencer Schroeder; Chris Mattox; Adreanne and Doug Cruthis; Victoria, Tucker, and Bella Henderson; Chance Tucker, Joseph, Noah, Mary, Jonathan, Samuel, and Stephen Stanley; Katie and Lela Fuller; and one great-great-grandchild, Gideon Cruthis.

She has a half sister, Vicki Walker of Olympia, WA; half-brother, John Gose of Dearborn, MI; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walt, in 1986.

A Memorial Service will be held at Wenatchee First Assembly of God Church on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Wenatchee First Assembly of God - Missions Dept., 1520 McKittrick Street, Wenatchee, WA, 98801. Arrangements assisted by Telford’s Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
