Fawn survival up due to mild winter

NCW — Local biologists have been seeing lots of fawns this spring, and they think it’s thanks to the generally mild winter.

Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife surveys of mule deer herds in Chelan and Okanogan counties are showing significantly higher rates of fawns per 100 adult deer, biologists said.
