Bastian elevated to federal judgeship

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Wenatchee lawyer Stanley Allen Bastian won unanimous Senate confirmation Wednesday to become the newest district judge for the federal Eastern District of Washington.

The Senate vote in his favor was 95-0. Bastian, 56, waited nearly eight months to learn the fate of his nomination, after President Barack Obama named him last September to take the caseload left when Richland-based Judge Edward F. Shea moved to senior status.
