WENATCHEE — Authorities searched by land, water and air for about four hours Tuesday afternoon for a woman who is missing and presumed drowned in the Columbia River.

The search began shortly after noon, when someone found a pair of shoes and a note under them near the Orondo Street boat launch. The suicide note is believed to have been written by a 56-year-old woman. Her car was found in the boat launch parking lot. A security camera showed the vehicle entering the lot Monday night.
