WASHINGTON, D.C. — The White House and the U.S. Department of Agriculture honored 15 “Champions of Change” leaders from across the country July 29, including Jesus Rodriguez, a 2014 Chelan High School graduate. The recognized leaders are doing extraordinary things to build a foundation for the next generation of farming and ranching.
Rodriguez, a member of the Chelan FFA, served as an FFA District VII officer and competed in many different Career Development Events at the chapter level. He was born in Los Angeles, the son of Mexican and El Salvadoran immigrants. His family moved to the Chelan Valley before he started school to work in the tree fruit industry. He will attend Washington State University this fall to pursue a degree in horticulture.
