WENATCHEE — As Walker Lewis lay in a hospital bed at Seattle Children’s Hospital last December, his left side mostly paralyzed from a violent snowboarding accident, one of his doctor’s asked why he was so glum all the time.
“I want to walk right now,” he told the doctor. “Get me to walk.”
The doctor had him sitting up that afternoon and on his feet shortly after. And the 13-year-old Wenatchee boy hasn’t looked back since.
