EPHRATA — The Columbia Basin Desert Dogs beat Hammond (Ind.) 7-3 on Saturday at the Babe Ruth 16-18 Year Old World Series at Johnson-O’Brien Stadium.

Cascade’s Austin Murdock had three hits for Columbia Basin, including a double.

On Friday, the Desert Dogs beat Tri-County (Texas) 4-1. Columbia Basin starting pitcher Mark Horning, a Quincy product, was outstanding, allowing one run and four hits while striking out four and walking two in 6.2 innings.
