Storms may bring flash flooding

WENATCHEE — Flash flooding, particularly in areas burned by recent wildfires, is possible around North Central Washington Tuesday through Thursday.

“The greatest threat of flash flooding is with Wednesday’s storms, since those storms will be moving slower, giving them a longer window to drop heavy rain over any given spot,” said Katherine Rowden, service hydrologist with the National Weather Service.

The storms are expected to bring lightning Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, she said.
