Velocity swimmers shine at zone championships

Seven Velocity Swimming athletes competed in the Western Zone Age Group Championships, held Aug. 6-9 at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, while representing the Inland Empire All-Star Swimming Team (eastern Washington, northern Idaho and eastern Oregon).

Braden Dilly (13 years old), Brooklyn Dressel (10), Rae Ann Dressel (12), Connor Elwyn (12), Jordan Hartley (14), Hannah VanHeyningen (13) and Jessica Wierzbicki (14) each competed based on their individual accomplishments over the past year. The meet features the best swimmers 14 and younger from Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming, and has very strict qualifying times.
