Robert K. “Bob” Lorentzen Sr.

East Wenatchee, WA

Robert K. “Bob” Lorentzen Sr., 77, of East Wenatchee, died Sunday, August 10, 2014. He was born on February 20, 1937, at Seattle, WA to Kenneth and Bernice (Babin) Lorentzen. He lived with his family in Everett and Wenatchee where he went to school. He joined the Army in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1957. He met and married Shirley Ann Barringer, while he was stationed in Yakima, WA, on September 8, 1956. He, along with his family, moved to Wenatchee in 1966, where he worked driving semi trucks and tow trucks, until opening B & G Auto Body and Paint shop with his partner Gary Henkel. He then opened Northwest Auto Body, Custom Upholstery and Golf Cart Repair. After his retirement, he worked as groundskeeper at Rock Island Golf Course for 10 years. He was an avid hunter and fishermen, taking his family along with many brothers and friends on camping, hunting and fishing trips. He also enjoyed race cars and golfing.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley of East Wenatchee; sons, Ron (Deanna) Lorentzen of Phoenix; Arny Lorentzen of Malaga, and Donald (Andrea) Lorentzen of Wenatchee; daughters, Sharon Lorentzen and her partner Wayne Boushee of Waterville and Terese (Brian) Stumpf of Wenatchee; three grandsons, Adam Lorentzen of Malaga; Conrad (Shasta) Stumpf and Bronson Lorentzen of Wenatchee; a sister, Margaret Carstensen of East Wenatchee; and brothers, John and Larry (Lou) Lorentzen of Everett; along with many special sister-in laws, brother-in laws and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Robert Jr.; sisters, Lillian Sprague, and Ida Mae Burnichon; and brothers, Gene and Chuck Lorentzen.

There will be a family gathering at a later date. Arrangements are by Telford’s Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
