Outdated microchip information leaves Leavenworth family without their pet

WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee Valley Humane Society is urging people to keep their dog’s tags and microchip information updated after what director Dawn Davies says is a heartbreaking situation involving a lost dog.

The dog, a blue heeler, was found in the Leavenworth area on July 22 and was brought to the Humane Society as a stray, Davies said. Humane Society officials used a scanner to read the dog’s microchip but the information led to two disconnected phone numbers.
