Orange wins! Tomato Gala visitors rated Orange Persimmon and then Orange Strawberry as the tastiest of all the 30 varieties offered at Saturday’s WSU/Chelan Master Gardener event.
Both are heirloom tomatoes. Nearly one third of the 108 ballots ranked Orange Persimmon first.
Black Krim placed third, another heirloom variety, while Gold Nugget (cherry sized heirloom) and Momotaro (pinkish-red hybrid) tied for fourth.
