As schools get going, it’s interesting to note when high schools start make a difference in student learning. Circadian rhythms are the reason, pushing teenagers to sleep later and stay up later at night.

A recent Scientific American article tracked studies of thousands of students in Minnesota, Colorado and Wyoming. They found the later the schools opened, the better the scores of math, English and social studies.
