Two of the better divers from the Wenatchee Valley grew up together and now compete against each other. And with another postseason approaching, one will be forced to watch his friend vie for a district title.

An untimely concussion meant Wenatchee’s Mitchell Thacker wouldn’t have the chance to qualify for the district or state meets, while one of his best friends — Cameron Rush of Eastmont — is hoping to win the district meet, which starts today and wraps up Saturday.
